SPI and NTCOA Forge Partnership to Advance Optometry Education in Taiwan

Singapore Polytechnic International (SPI) has partnered with the New Taipei City Optometrists Association (NTCOA) 社團法人新北市驗光師公會to develop a series of online Continuing Professional Education (CPE) modules for optometrists in Taiwan. Scheduled for launch in 2026, the modules will be developed by Singapore Polytechnic’s Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) Team, combining academic rigor with clinical expertise. Once completed, the videos will be delivered to NTCOA for asynchronous delivery to practitioners in Taipei City, with the aim of extending access across Taiwan in the future.

Covering key areas such as Contact Lenses, Visual Function, and Myopia Control, the modules will blend lectures, visuals, and case-based learning to equip practitioners with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills.

Mr. Huang Chun Chen, President of NTCOA, said, “This collaboration will provide Taiwan’s optometrists with accessible, high-quality training to strengthen their professional practice.” Mr. Edwin Sim, Senior Manager at SPI, added, “We are excited to contribute our expertise and look forward to supporting NTCOA in shaping the future of optometry education.”
