Strengthening TVET Collaboration: Changzhou Educators Visit Singapore Polytechnic
On 19 December 2025, Singapore Polytechnic International (SPI) organised a learning visit for 15 educators from Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in Changzhou, China. The delegation, led by ITE Education Services (ITEES), comprised educators from the Automotive, Internet of Things (IoT), and New Energy disciplines. The two-hour programme aimed to share Singapore Polytechnic’s applied learning approaches and training infrastructure.
The visit was hosted by Ms Katerina Yang, Senior Education Advisor at Singapore Polytechnic, who provided an overview of SP’s education and learning approaches. Her sharing highlighted SP’s adoption of the CDIO (Conceive–Design–Implement–Operate) pedagogy and how the framework supports continuous programme improvement through strong industry alignment, curriculum renewal, and innovative teaching practices that enhance graduate readiness.
Ms Yang also led participants on an experiential tour of the Energy and Chemicals Training Centre (ECTC), a 1,430-square-metre integrated facility supporting training for the energy, chemicals, pharmaceutical, and biopharmaceutical sectors. Through exposure to advanced laboratories, simulation systems, virtual reality technologies, and key unit operations, participants gained insights into SP’s hands-on, industry-relevant learning environment and its role in developing future-ready technical talent.
