Using AI for Teaching and Learning: A Professional Development Programme for Korean Educators

On 20 and 21 January 2026, Singapore Polytechnic International conducted a two-day professional development programme for Korean educators from Gwangju, focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning. The programme hosted two groups across separate sessions—a cohort of primary school teachers and a cohort of secondary school teachers—providing a structured learning experience tailored to different classroom contexts.

Each 1.5-hour session began with Our AI Story, which outlined SP’s approach to integrating AI into education, followed by an introduction to a guiding framework that supports responsible and purposeful classroom implementation. Participants were then engaged in hands-on activities that demonstrated how AI tools can be used to support lesson planning, content development, assessment design, and student engagement.

The programme concluded with a Vibe Coding session, where educators experimented with AI-enabled tools in a guided environment. Through interactive activities and facilitated discussions, the sessions provided participants with practical insights into how AI can enhance teaching effectiveness, support educators’ workflows, and enrich learning experiences across different levels of education.
