On 5 September 2025, Singapore Polytechnic’s Advanced Manufacturing Learning Journey (SP-AMLJ), co-developed with TÜV SÜD, welcomed a 34-member delegation from Busan National Mechanical Technical High School (BNMTHS). The visit brought together 30 students and four faculty members eager to learn about Singapore’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem and world-class technical education practices.

The programme began with a welcome and briefing by Mr KK Lee, Advanced Manufacturing Centre Director on Singapore’s manufacturing landscape and its transformation toward Industry 4.0. SP-AMLJ, which has hosted more than 3,000 visitors since 2020, showcased its role in connecting educators, students, and industry to accelerate knowledge sharing and innovation.
Students participated in a thematic guided tour through three immersive zones based on the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI):
* Digitalization Zone – Explored digital workflows, data integration, and visualization tools.
* Integrated Zone – Observed collaborative robots and connected systems for flexible manufacturing.
* Smart Zone – Witnessed real-time analytics, digital twins, and AI-driven process optimization.

Students engaged with AI-powered vision systems for inspection and bin picking, detecting surface defects and performing pick-and-place tasks. They were also introduced to quadrupled robots, providing a fun, practical introduction to robotics technology.
BNMTHS, a leading South Korean institution specializing in mechanical engineering and smart manufacturing, values international collaboration to prepare students for global industry challenges. The visit provided valuable insights into technical and vocational education, digital literacy, and workforce–industry alignment, reinforcing the importance of global partnerships in shaping the next generation of skilled engineers and innovators.
