Singapore Polytechnic International (SPI) was pleased to welcome a delegation of 40 leaders from Nigeria’s National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to Singapore Polytechnic on 20 August 2026.
The visit formed part of the delegation’s 8-Day Leadership Training Programme in Singapore, which focused on areas such as TVET development, curriculum and pedagogy, Industry 4.0 and 5.0, sustainability, industry partnerships, and learning journeys to Singapore’s institutions of higher learning.

Hosted by Mr Toh Ser Khoon, Managing Director of SPI, the two-hour visit began with a welcome and introduction to Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and SPI. Ser Khoon shared how SP supports applied learning, industry engagement and international capability development, before engaging the delegates in a short Q&A.
The delegation then embarked on a campus tour to experience some of SP’s teaching, learning and technology-enabled facilities. Stops included the Introduction to Engineering Lab, where delegates were introduced to SP’s learning environment, followed by a visit to the 5G & AIoT Centre to gain a glimpse of how emerging technologies are incorporated into applied education and training.

The group also visited a media room at T15, before proceeding to SP’s Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC). The AMC segment began with an introductory video, followed by a walkthrough of the Centre, giving delegates an overview of SP’s capabilities in advanced manufacturing and industry-relevant training.

Through the visit, the NBTE delegation was able to see how SP combines applied learning, technology, industry relevance and purpose-built learning environments to support the development of future-ready skills. It also provided a valuable opportunity for both sides to exchange perspectives on TVET transformation and explore how educational institutions can respond to rapidly changing industry needs.
SPI was glad to be part of the delegation’s learning journey in Singapore and looks forward to more opportunities for international exchange and collaboration in TVET.
